Alimony/Spousal Support

Life changes drastically during and after a divorce, and it is important to know what options are available to you to help you transition into the next chapter of your life. Alimony is often an emotionally charged and hotly contested issue, but it does not have to be.  Whether you are the breadwinner or traditional homemaker, David’s 20 years of litigation experience and his ability to properly evaluate the issues on a case-by-case basis helps him to provide his clients with a big picture idea of what is to come.

In determining the amount of alimony, the court will consider:

  • Standard of living during the marriage;
  • Duration of the marriage;
  • Age and the physical and emotional condition of both parties;
  • Financial resources of each party;
  • The time necessary (if any) for either party to obtain the education/training he or she needs to find appropriate employment;
  • Contributions of each party to the marriage, both financial and non-financial;
  • Condition of the parties, including separate estates, earning capacities and fixed liabilities; and
  • Anything else that the court deems equitable and proper.

David has built his career on helping his clients obtain favorable results in order to begin the next chapter of their lives. A fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Board Certified in Family Law by the National Academy of Trial Advocacy, David has dedicated his practice to providing sound legal advice and counsel, based on years of experience and training.
